Pickup and delivery services are moving services that simply transport items to the desired location and unload. People arrange their own packing, loading and mode of transportation. However, small load services may ship weights less than a 1,000 pounds which is the contents of a small to midsized rental moving van.

Storage services are offered by large moving companies, and they provide storage for items pending delivery to the desired location, and there are two types.

The first type is when a truck arrives at the location at a pre-determined time, the client loads the truck with all due expediency, and the a licensed driver will transport the shipment. The client arrives at the location prior to the truck’s arrival to unload with the same urgency.

The second type involves a delivered mobile storage container which is left at a location for a certain period and after the container is loaded, it is picked up and taken to the desired location. This gives the entities moving multiple days in which to load the container. Often these services provided basic moving equipment, but they do not pack, load or unload.
